Ice Cream Sandwiches better than you may be for sale
Homemade is better. You can do better than ice cream sandwiches you can buy into do. The cookie wafers will never be sticky, you can choose your favorite ice cream, & make the sandwich any shape you like. The cookies are far better than the thin, sticky waffles that you see on commercial ice cream sandwiches. The children will love. And they are easy.
3 one-ounce squares of semi-sweet chocolate baking
1 pinch salt 4 large
egg yolks 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
first order the cookies
Melt chocolate & a tablespoon of butter in the microwave. Set aside.
2 Cream the remaining butter & powdered sugar together. Salts.
3 Add the four egg yolks, donated by each. Add the vanilla.
4 Place the flour in three parts, donated after each addition.
5 Scrape the dough onto a large sheet of wax paper. Pat the dough into a square or round log. Wrap it in wax paper & smooth the edges into a single protocol. Refrigerate the log for at least an hour.
Once the cookies have cooled, fill with softened somewhat
ice. The tops of the cookies should be out. Using a little spatula smooth the ice in a uniform layer & into smooth up the edges. They can be too thick or thin as you like. Place the rolls in the freezer until they are completely solid. They will keep in your freezer for up into two weeks.
